The Boise Airport is looking for an experienced and talented individual to serve as its Air Traffic Controller. The successful candidate will be personally responsible for the safe and efficient movement of aircraft throughout the worksite. This individual will use a combination of critical thinking and decision-making skills to ensure the safety of aircraft at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Receive and process aircraft flight plans and manage aircraft using air traffic control procedures
Monitor aircraft progress by using radar, computers, weather data, and other equipment
Assist pilots with navigation, provide them with advisories, and maintain contact with them
Make critical decisions quickly and accurately to ensure a safe and efficient flow of aircraft traffic
Ensure that the aircraft remains in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and procedures
Act as a liaison between air traffic controllers, airport personnel, and other air traffic control services

Work Hours and Benefits:

This position will be a full-time position with hours varying depending on the needs of the airport. Benefits will include paid vacation, health insurance, and retirement benefits.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required
Previous air traffic control experience is preferred
Ability to make clear and concise decisions quickly
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to understand and use complex air traffic control procedures safely

Training and Education:

The successful candidate must possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent, and have previous air traffic control experience or training. The candidate must also be willing to take the Air Traffic Control Certification Exam.
