This includes installing various fonts to the correct locations on the computer, setting up and calibrating printers and scanners, checking the accuracy of proof copies against the original artwork or source material. Using industry-standard prepress software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop) and design programs (Adobe InDesign), a Prepress Technician is also involved in editing files to prepare properly for printing on different presses without losing quality.
