The information is entered into a standardized form to be stored in the database for future reference. Patient Registrars are also responsible for maintaining and distributing patient histories to staff involved in direct patient care. They, therefore, work very closely with both nursing and medical staff to ensure that pertinent information is made available in an accessible format for all professionals involved with the patient´s care. Patient Registrars must have a thorough knowledge of medications, diseases, and medical disorders to code the database accurately.
